Message from New Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Greetings from Leysin. My name is Ken Nishizuka, and I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland (KLAS) from this academic year.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of KLAS’s educational mission. Each time I witness the sincerity, positivity, and open-mindedness of our students, I am reminded of the love and care with which you have nurtured them over the years. It is truly inspiring, and I feel a deep sense of responsibility to help each of these remarkable students realize their potential and grow during their time with us. Though my role has changed, my commitment remains the same: to do everything I can to support our students’ futures.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of KLAS since its founding in the beautiful mountain town of Leysin, Switzerland. Over these three and a half decades, the world has undergone tremendous changes—most notably the rapid evolution of communication through the internet and social media.

Even amid such change, KLAS continues to uphold three core pillars of our educational philosophy:

  • An international education rooted in the unique environment of Switzerland

  • High-quality English education in every sense

  • Personal growth fostered through three years of full boarding life

While the tools of communication may evolve, our fundamental belief remains unchanged: learning and growing together, as students and educators, through shared experiences and time. To continue providing a space where young people with dreams can thrive and prepare to take on the world, we will stay true to what must be preserved, while actively embracing necessary change.

With the spirit of “changing in order to remain unchanged,” we are guiding KLAS into its next stage.

Thank you once again for your ongoing understanding and support.

Warm regards,

Ken Nishizuka

Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland
